We have been learning about figurative language all year. Thinking about similes, metaphors, hyperboles, imagery, and personification~ I want you to record and write out different pieces that are in the book that you are reading. Tell the title of the book, the author, and give at least 3 examples of figurative language. Be sure to tell what the similes, metaphors, personification, and hyperboles are REALLY saying. This is graded!

In the book The Emperor`s Code, I found a few figurative language exapmles. In a poem, one line said where the earth meets the sky. It is a personification because the earth doesnt acually "touch" the sky, it is in it. TO BE CONTINUED... MEEP

Next example- imagery. Dan bit down on a deep-fried snack and chewed thoughtfully, tryin to place the unfamiliar flavor. Not bad, he decided. Crispy, kind of salty- a little like pork rinds, but the texture was different. That was imagery because it was well described.... One more! TO MANY INTERUPTIONS!... MEEP!

I am reading Phone Home, Persephone By: Kate McMullan. Some figurative laugaue in the book is imagery. Imagery means that it apeals to the five senses For eample Charon is carzy looking to with his wild white hairand his long white beard.Next, Tisi winked a bright red eye smile showing gleaming white fangs. Then " This Godess had long, honey colored hair pulled back in a flower headband. Her white robe was belted with a flowered belt. The last example is that "Where bubbling hot tar and rivers of flaming lava tourmet the ghosts of the wicked". Those are all the figurative language.
